Carey is a former top fashion model who stands at nearly 5'10" was well-liked by American fashion houses like Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. Her father was an eminent geologist and named Scientist of 1979 by the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists. In the course of his work, Carey was raised all over the globe. While in college, she began to model for a small amount of time and was able to attract the attention of Ford model Agency representatives in New York. She briefly lived and studied in Paris after which she returned to New York. Her modeling and college career took off and she appeared on Vogue's, Glamour's, and a variety of other magazines' covers. While modeling she also studied the study of literature in New York University. When she arrived in New York she began to pursue acting.
